We are happy to share some exciting news about the latest developments coming to LingoStand: Role-Play and Simulations!
After some development efforts and testing, we are focusing on this new functionality because it has shown tremendous promise in our experiments. Here’s a glimpse of what you can expect.
Introducing Role-Play and Simulations
Our new Role-Play and Simulation features leverage GPT-4o and other advanced technologies to create compelling scenarios.
These scenarios provide students with meaningful choices, adapt challenges based on their level, and offer immediate feedback during conversations as well as general feedback at the end.
This innovative approach allows students to practice key language skills at any time, quickly identifying their strengths and areas for improvement.
Real-Time Feedback and Practice
With these simulations, students will receive immediate feedback during their interactions, helping them adjust and improve on the spot. Additionally, Lu will offer phrases at the end of each session for students to practice until they master precision and fluency in the language.
The ability to step out of their comfort zone in a safe, optimized learning environment is a powerful tool for language acquisition.
Simulation Goals and Structure
Each simulation is designed to have a specific goal, be concise, and encompass multiple language functions. This ensures that the practice is focused, effective, and covers various aspects of real-life communication.
First Simulation: Booking a Doctor’s Appointment
The first simulation we are rolling out is “Booking a Doctor’s Appointment.” In this scenario, Lu will take on the role of a secretary, creating a unique and personalized practice scenario based on the student’s choices. These simulations are designed to focus on language functions, emphasizing real-life utility.
Language Skills Focus
- Writing and Speaking: Feedback will focus on fluency and accuracy.
- Listening and Reading: Improvement will focus on comprehension.

We will gradually release simulation experiences, co-creation sessions, mentorships, and tutoring sessions covering:
